Preliminary production on the film officially started on May 30, 2018, in San Diego.[75][76] The crew filmed aerial shots at Naval Air Station Fallon.[77] During late August a 15-person film crew from Paramount and Bruckheimer Films was aboard the Norfolk-based aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln to shoot flight deck operations.[78][79] In mid-February 2019, Cruise and the production crew were sighted on board USS Theodore Roosevelt at NAS North Island.[80] In March, filming in the Cascade Mountains was completed at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor, Washington, where routes were scouted by helicopter and the L-39 before filming the F/A-18s.[81][77][82] On June 19, 2019, Miles Teller revealed in an interview that he had finished filming two days earlier.[83] Principal photography was scheduled until April 15, 2019, in San Diego, Lemoore, China Lake,[84] Chico,[85] and Lake Tahoe in California;[86] Seattle;[87] and Patuxent River, Maryland.[88] The low-pass scene with Ed Harris filmed at China Lake included flying a Blue Angels plane at less than 50 ft (15 m) around 450 kn (830 km/h), which on the 20th and last pass resulted in roofing from the guard shack flying off held only by romex cable.[77] The post-production and editing works were supervised by Kosinski, at his home during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.[89]
For most of the planes including the F/A-18E/F, the production crew acquired 20 working aircraft from all over the country. Hindle said that Kosinski had made specifications for every detail during design, including the helmets, suits, props, and several others.[94]

With help from the Navy the production team secured one F-14A from the San Diego Air & Space Museum in California.[99] Hindle described further challenges, including dismantling and shipping the plane's components, and making the aircraft as functional as possible, though still without engines.[94]
The film's first teaser trailer premiered during a surprise appearance by Cruise at the 2019 San Diego Comic Con on July 18, 2019.[114][115] The first trailer received high praise from fans, with many lauding the return of the series and some comparing it to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.[116] The Hollywood Reporter wrote that some fans noticed that the flag of the Republic of China (the flag used by the government of the Republic of China based on the island of Taiwan) and the Flag of Japan were missing from the flight jacket of Cruise's character and accused Paramount of removing it to appease China-based co-financier Tencent Pictures.[117] However, the Republic of China and Japanese flags were later restored, as Tencent would end up pulling out of the production, leading to them being uncredited in the final film.[118] The second trailer was released in December 2019,[119] and a new Snapchat filter for the film was introduced by Paramount, to engage "young-generation audiences".[120]
As simple as just building new F-22s may sound, the truth is, re-starting the F-22 production line would likely cost the same or potentially even more than simply developing an entirely new and potentially better fighter.
Lockheed Martin cannibalized a great deal of the F-22's production infrastructure to support the ongoing production of the F-35, meaning it wouldn't be as simple as just re-opening the plants that had previously built Raptors.
Why? There are a number of reasons, but chief among them are operational costs (the F-15 is far cheaper per flight hour than either the F-35 or the F-22), and immediate production capability. Boeing has already been building advanced F-15s for American allies in nations like Qatar and Saudi Arabia, so standing up a new production line for the United States comes with relatively little cost.
The high-flying film added more than $150 million to the economy when it was filmed throughout the state including areas in San Diego. The production also created 2,820 high-quality jobs for Californians.
Following a production unveiling this past August, we learned the Cadillac Lyriq will also start just below $60k at $58,795. As a result, the Lyriq sold out in just 19 minutes. As we anticipate deliveries in 2022, Cadillac has recently shared footage of its latest prototype before entering full-fledged production.
Up until this point, Toyota has been one of the few global automakers dragging its heels on EV production. In fact, there is well-documented evidence of its efforts to impede EV adoption in favor of hybrid and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

Last year, Carter and James raised $100 million for SpringHill from investors including Sister, the production company of Elisabeth Murdoch, Stacey Snider and Jane Featherstone, and Guggenheim Partners.
The SpringHill deal is the latest high-profile production company investment amid a gold rush for content in the entertainment industry. Media companies have been hungry for content to build streaming services with fresh shows and movies.
Alice Walker's powerful novel was already adapted to the big screen by Steven Spielberg in 1985, but this new musical version instead draws on the 2005 stage production. Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey and Quincy Jones produce. Fantasia Barrino, Colman Domingo, Taraji P. Henson, Corey Hawkins, Danielle Brooks, H.E.R., Halle Bailey, Ciara and Aunjanue Ellis star.
Resistance exercise has been shown to elicit a significant acute hormonal response. It appears that this acute response is more critical to tissue growth and remodelling than chronic changes in resting hormonal concentrations, as many studies have not shown a significant change during resistance training despite increases in muscle strength and hypertrophy. Anabolic hormones such as testosterone and the superfamily of growth hormones (GH) have been shown to be elevated during 15-30 minutes of post-resistance exercise providing an adequate stimulus is present. Protocols high in volume, moderate to high in intensity, using short rest intervals and stressing a large muscle mass, tend to produce the greatest acute hormonal elevations (e.g. testosterone, GH and the catabolic hormone cortisol) compared with low-volume, high-intensity protocols using long rest intervals. Other anabolic hormones such as insulin and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) are critical to skeletal muscle growth. Insulin is regulated by blood glucose and amino acid levels. However, circulating IGF-1 elevations have been reported following resistance exercise presumably in response to GH-stimulated hepatic secretion. Recent evidence indicates that muscle isoforms of IGF-1 may play a substantial role in tissue remodelling via up-regulation by mechanical signalling (i.e. increased gene expression resulting from stretch and tension to the muscle cytoskeleton leading to greater protein synthesis rates). Acute elevations in catecholamines are critical to optimal force production and energy liberation during resistance exercise. More recent research has shown the importance of acute hormonal elevations and mechanical stimuli for subsequent up- and down-regulation of cytoplasmic steroid receptors needed to mediate the hormonal effects. Other factors such as nutrition, overtraining, detraining and circadian patterns of hormone secretion are critical to examining the hormonal responses and adaptations to resistance training.
It should not come as a surprise that the production effects in Top Gun Maverick are a clear step above the original. Not only does Top Gun Maverick have the benefit of decades of advancements in movie production, but the movie's creators' insistence on making it as real as possible makes sure that it did not fall into the trap of using the cheaper and simpler effects that would have taken away from the quality of the experience, especially on the big screen.
Top Gun: Maverick's reported production budget is $152 million. That figure is in line with the last handful of Mission: Impossible movies. Both Mission: Impossible III and Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation were budgeted at $150 million. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol cost $145 million to make. Mission: Impossible - Fallout had a $178 million budget. Among other recent blockbusters, Top Gun: Maverick is in the ballpark of the MCU's Shang-Chi, which cost between $150-200 million.
The general rule of thumb is a movie needs to gross twice its production budget in order to break even. Going by that formula, Top Gun: Maverick would have to earn roughly $304 million globally to recoup its costs. It will be interesting to track its box office performance. Outside of Mission: Impossible (which continues to be a reliable draw), much of Cruise's output has been hit or miss commercially lately. The Mummy was an infamous bomb, killing the Dark Universe franchise before it really kicked off. Cruise's Jack Reacher film franchise fizzled out after only two installments. Even the well-received Edge of Tomorrow struggled at the box office before catching on with viewers later on home media. Earlier in his career, Cruise was one of the box office's biggest stars, but nowadays he isn't always as sure of a lock.
